    1. Add the coconut oil and ground beef to the pot and break up the meat.
    2. Add the carrots, brown rice, broth or water. Reserve broccoli

Star’s Stove Top Sensitive Tummy Chicken with Carrots, Broccoli and White Rice

Yield: 14 cups, 276 calories per cup

If your dog has an upset stomach, I would not add pumpkin, but if there is diarrhea, a 1/2 cup of pumpkin can be added to the recipe.

Ingredients

Directions

    1. Cook white rice according to instructions on brand label. The final amount will vary but generally using 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cup of dried rice will yield five cups of cooked rice. You can cook the rice on the stovetop or use a rice cooker, which saves time from having to watch the rice.
    2. Sauté the ground chicken in coconut oil until completely cooked.
    3. Steam carrots and broccoli separately for 8-10 minutes.
    4. Mix all ingredients together and cool.
    5. Add the fish oil and premix. Mix well.
    6. Freeze what you will not use in 4 days.

Additional Tips

    • It's optional to add some pumpkin to this recipe if your dog has a soft or loose stool.

Mom's chicken and rice with carrots, kale, and blueberries

Yield: 15 cups, 304 calories per cup

I like a nice healthy, bland meal when I anticipate any stress or change that might affect my dogs. So I'll make it when we will be away for a few days, when all the dogs are on a road trip, or when my dogs go to competitions. I made this meal for Ellen when she went to a sheep herding trial, and she rocked it!

Ingredients

Directions

    1. Add the coconut oil and meat to the pot and break up the meat on the saute function for 3-5 minutes.
    2. Add the kale and saute a 1-2 minutes until wilted.
    3. Cook on high pressure for 3 minutes.
    4. Allow a natural release.
    5. Add the blueberries. Mix them in well, smashing the skins and cool the recipe.
    6. Add the HVB fish oil and premix. Mix well
    7. Freeze what you will not use in 4 days.

Additional Tips

    • Chicken thighs are often priced more affordably than breast meat and dogs love them!

Star's Chunky Beef Stew

Yield: 16 cups, 297 calories per cup

I buy stew meat in bulk at Costco which would normally be way too much for the family and reserve food for dog food and the rest goes into a stew for the family. Voila! Everyone's happy!

Pup's Favorite Turkey, Vegetables, Rice and Blueberries

Yield: 16 cups, 224 calories per cup

This easy stovetop turkey and vegetables with rice recipe has a variety of superfoods, including broccoli, blueberries, and sardines. You can save time by steaming the broccoli and carrots together.

Ingredients

Directions

    1. Steam the carrots and broccoli until done (8-10 minutes).
    2. Cook the white rice separately following brand directions using 2 cups of white rice to the recommended amount of water (4 cups in this recipe).
    3. Sauté the ground turkey in 2 Tbsp of coconut oil. At this point you crack and add two eggs to the meat and saute until done.
    4. Mix meat, vegetables, rice, and fish oil or sardines in a large pot or bowl. Smash in the blueberries, breaking them open, so they are digestible.
    5. Cool the recipe and add the HVB premix.
    6. Freeze what you will not use in 4 days.

Additional Tips

    • You can substitute fish oil if you do not have sardines for the Omega-3 requirement.
